How to buy braille books

Braille book sales

Almost all of the braille books produced by TPB are for sale. Readers may purchase copies of all these books. Interleaved books and braille books accompanied by the printed book may be purchased if the printed book is still commercially available. Tactile picture books may also be purchased, although only a limited edition is published.

Prices

Braille books are primarily sold to individuals, although libraries and institutions may purchase titles. If the book is in stock, the ordered book will be delivered within two weeks.

Prices for libraries and institutions:

Wire-o:
SEK 800 (plus VAT) for books for adults
SEK 480 (plus VAT) for books for children.
Hard back: plus SEK 70 (plus VAT) per title.

Tactile picture books:
SEK 800 (plus VAT)
Payment form will be sent from TPB, terms of payment 30 days.

For individuals living in Sweden prices are subsidized and thus lower than above.

Sales lists

TPB puts together lists covering new books or books within a certain topic a few times a year. All of these books are for sale. The lists (in Swedish only) can be obtained through TPB. If required, TPB will also make individual lists covering topics of special interest. You are welcome to call 020 48 17 31 (within Sweden only) during the following hours:
Monday - Friday 9am-12, 1pm-3pm CET.
After opening hours messages can be left on the answering machine connected to that number.

Production proposals

Any printed book, not yet produced in braille, can be suggested for braille production. The usual production time is estimated to 12 weeks, but it is possible to produce a book in 4 weeks if necessary. TPB has no in-house production but has contracts with several Braille printing houses.
